Stongard vs X-pel. Opinions, installation tips?

Just did Expel this past weekend. It's one of those jobs that you need to do at least once
to get it right. Have a few small air bubbles and one darn fingerprint where I pulled it back up once. Overall, not bad for a first attempt. Personally, I'm not crazy about how it makes the paint look like heavy 'orangepeel' but at least it's better than stone chips. IMO
John

What I did....
I took the extra material around the trimmed pieces and practiced with them.
I was lucky to have left no fingerprints at all. The trick is keeping it wet per the instructions.
I agree with the orange peely look a bit and chose not to do the top of the hood for that reason. And the fact that the edge stood out too much on cars I've seen.
I found it challenging but controllable and by the end of the day I was just flying through the process.
Their (X-Pel) instructional video is helpful. Get it.
Get it and give a few pieces a try. If you chicken out then have a pro do it.

anyone heard from InvincaShield? They had the best kit, IMHO.

Doing mine on Sunday...
and I'm hoping that Imola wont' show the orange peel quite as much.
However, as Bloom states, better than friggin rock chips... and... you
know in your mind that it isn't the paint thats defective... sacrificing a
tiny bit of looks for great peace of mind.
