Default Strange chirpping noise when shifting (opinions or thoughts appreciated - reasonably short)...

Took a service rep for WOT spin round the block to see what the hell this brief chirp/wine noise is when I put the drive-train back under load after shifting gears (most noticable after shifting into second while WOT). This noise has been progressively getting worse through the course of my 38k mile ownership. He was quick to say, "that's your bleed-off valves and is common, especially for the TT's." Believe me, I was relieved to hear him dish out this answer so quickly and add that it was not problem, but for some reason I am not entirely convinced and would like to know if any AW posters have heard anything like this or some noise related to your stock bleed/blow-off valves?

I am truly hoping and relieved that my noise might be this simple of an explanation. Oh, and now/recently I hear it ever so slightly (at a longer interval than just a "chirp") when under WOT in second or third while climbing a hill or something (again load, but not after a shift)... would the valves need to relieve pressure under these circumstances?

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Default I don't know.....he did say he heard it when getting back on the gas.

That doesn't sound like a bad BPV or intake leak. If he hears it after letting off the gas from WOT, then I would think it's a leak/bad BPV.

Hmmm, maybe bad valves and hose?

If he's getting it under load, it could be fluttering or not able to hold, thus making a noise.

Well, can you make the sound go away, but letting the clutch out slower?

Default Actually, Frank had suggested this a while back, but I forgot to give that a try...

seems to me that, that would not work since I only hear it the moment the drive-train is re-engaging... then again, maybe it's because so many actions are clustered so close together when shifting... Hmmmmm. I will try it though.
