Heh, regardless of whether or not new plugs are the fix I believe it's a good time to do them considering the mileage they've got...plus it will eliminate the last easy thing. If that doesn't do it, I'll actually put some effort into hunting the problem down. It's really no bigge though, gave a few AWers rides lately and they were all like "what misfires!?"
As for the AFR, it'd be nice to see plus I'd feel more comfortable that way even with no power improvement.
Oh, and these 4 WOT pulls were the first ones after ECU reset. I wonder how/if it will continue to adapt. I know that there is race gas flowing through the injectors because of how it turned over on cold start.

I agree on changing the plugs, and the "big whoop" factor.
It'll adapt, but the majority of the adaptations will be in balancing out load, which does little with your setup. As far as timing goes, you have the normal "wigg-out" correction oscillations between 4k-5500, so I don't think X will take it much further gracefully. XR would rock it nicer in that range. I think you could nurse it to 28 or so peak on X, but it may not be much faster since the oscillations will prolly climb too.

I think we may be brushing up an absolute limit with regards to optimal timing calculation in the midrange. No matter what, it'll react a bit.

Timing looks good, airflow looks a bit low for how fast you are going. Are you sure you are only flowing 280?
(I wish I could hit 3.1 with 280 g/sec...)

there is plenty more on the plate IMO.
I bet after the car adapts you could throw another 7 degrees of timing advancement and possibly break a sub 3 run in the right conditions!!!!
KEEP ME POSTED!

X just won't let me get the timing I should be seeing regardless of whether or not the ECU feels a need to correct due to real knock.

Race gas programs run much more mid range timing so it's not that I'm past optimal timing. There doesn't seem to be any "real" reason for the ECU to pull timing there other than becuase X isn't programmed to run that much.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding and you're saying it's a program thing. You and your vague explanations.
EF, meet MM. MM, meet EF. ;-p
