Default suspension options with Bridgestone p03 235/45-17 on 17x8 AT Riva on Avant.help

I was told that the 235/45series-17 tire was a better fit on the 17x8Rivas and OK on my '01 S4Avant. Since then, other people thought I have limited my options on suspension changes due to clearance problems with 45 series poles(already have Neuspeed sway bar 19")
I need to be able to fit 4 adults at times.
I don't think that I can go with Intrax/konis but would something like KW or H&R coilovers be an option? Expect the wheel/tires any day, isn't the avant another inch higher than the sedan? Anyone have experience with 17"Riva/235-45 pole-3s on avants?
Help!
Dennis

Default I've had 235/45-17 on 8" wide rims for 1 day,

lowered to 25.75" in the front, 26" in the rear on a sedan. No perceptible rubbing yet. Hopefully it never will rub, but dang does it look close . . .

Default Update: rubbing on day 2.

I don't know how relevant this is to your avant, but I managed to get the car to rub twice yesterday, once while hitting a bump under hard braking, and another time while hitting a bump while under heavy cornering load. Looks like it's just the plastic liner inside the front wheel well. BTW, the offset on my wheels is ET35.

Good luck.

Default owch! have you tried a full load yet?...

I remember the same thing when I tried the sport springs for my '99A6 sedan. The old H&R sports made the a6 ride lower than my NSX ('93modified still rides like the day I got it 9yrs ago, that's my REALbaby..)
I'm going to hold on until I get the wheels/tire from tire rack later this wk. Could shoot myself for listening to this "wholesaler guy" from TR. I pressed ext."349" instead of Eddie's "369" and got my "professional " audi advice from some other guy.
In hindsight , I would have ordered a set of 17x7.5" wheels with 225/45-17 and have no problems with the Intrax/Konis. Might be forced to go with Bilstein shocks only with lower perch and keep stock springs.
Good Luck, hey, let me know how the Avant rides with 4 adults. By the way, which wheels do you have?
Regards, Dennis
