Default Technical question--anyone attempt to use a kenne bell boost-a-pump

Just wondering if anyone has tried to wire up a kenne Bell boost-a-pump. At $250 Seems a mite less expensive than a $500-044 pump for guys going stage3. plus it puts less strain on the pump.

Well since the factory FPR also increases based on boost i'm not sure they would play well together

Default FPR still regulates line preasure

As I understand it---The boost-a-pump has nothing to do with Fuel Preasure. It increases the voltage to the pump. instead of opperating at 14.4 volts; under full throttle--it opperates at 17 volts. The FPR still regulates fuel preasure. The extra voltage allows the pump to opperate at higher flow rates without losing preasure.

Although I wouldnt be surprised if audi has some kind of complex system in place for their pump.

Default Interesting. Never read about anyone on here using one but if you did your homework, don't see why

it wouldn't work. As long as our pumps can handle the increased voltage/operating speed and gave you enough bump in flow to maintain fuel pressure.

Only coming on at WOT would mean it was running normal 99% of the time.

Default Exactly

According to the Kenne Bell website it actually prolongs pump life because the pump isnt as stressed (I have no idea how pumping at a higher flow is less stressful and increases pumplife). For sure though--a boost-a-pump will allow the stock pump to work much higher than normal.
