Default Temperature related sunroof problem?

Third time this has happened: sunroof gets stuck in open position, and will either close to about half way when the dial is returned to the closed position, or else just not move at all.

The first time, about a year ago, the dealer lubed the rails and said there were no other problems they could find.

Problem didn't happen again until about six weeks ago, then the same thing, and I again dropped the car off. When they looked at it in the morning, it worked fine. Their response was that I obviously hadn't used the dial correctly. Right.

Happened again today, temp in the 90's. Cranked it closed with the manual overide, going back to the dealer next week. Anyone else had this problem?

Default Search the A4 forum...

the sunroof switches have been failing for years. You can either remove it and try to clean the contacts inside the switch, or replace the switch altogether.
