monoblock calipers, brackets, lines, etc. from a well respected brake company for $4k as opposed to the currently popular brands - specifically as opposed to a $2.8k front-only Stoptech kit?

Default Since we are opening this can of worms......... I have a question

When are u supposed to do the S8 rear brake mod? Only when running Stock front brakes? or is there a front break upgrade that you can run with the S8 rear discs?

I know Stoptech's are a no go due to balancing issues...

Thanks guys!

Default I hear you and agree that for aesthetics alone, a 4-wheel kit is the way to go. But $5.8k for

the Stoptech 355/328s is A LOT OF MONEY. I am working with a friend in the brake biz regarding a possible alternative.

Default Check out the Stasis rear brake kit

298mm slotted rotors but uses stock calipers. Not huge but a noticable visual improvement

Default As long as the math supports the claims to out clamp the HP-2s. Minimum 40/44 pistons on 332mm is

the benchmark.

Default if that's your benchmark, just get the stasis street sport. 4 wheels ~$3k. save a grand.

you still have a stoptech kit sitting in your garage??

Default That is from a math perspective, of course. Actually, I now have two different kits sitting in my

garage as I went back to HP-2s with SS lines and Mintex Reds .44 (Co-eff of friction). I don't track, so I don't need the big caliper heatsinks of the Big Reds or the ST-40s. I'm cleaning out my garage as a new year's resolution and will move these kits locally. I have been considering Stasis as it is the kit with the highest brake torque ability in rotors that will fit under the 17"s, but to be honest HP-2s with cryo X-drills all around, SS lines, and Motul 600 RBF fit my roadcar needs pretty well as with these upgrades my fade resistance is minimized to almost nothing relative to my usage. FWIW, if I want shorter stopping distances, then I'll get stickier tires.
