Is there a difference between Toluene and Lacquer Thinner?
There is a specific warning: "WARNING: Using this product will expose you to Toluene...". I've worked with paint thinners, denatured alcohols, and lacquer thinners, and of them all the lacquer strips off paint like it was just painted an hour ago. So does that mean more Toluene? I want to know because I just picked up two gallons and I want to be positive before dumping it in my car that there isn't a specific can of Toluene for purchase. From searching the posts, it seems that people are using paint thinners, but no mention of Lacquer. So is anyone using lacquer/is it ok?

no ingredients but does this help?
NON-PHOTOCHEMICALLY REACTIVE
MAX V.O.C. - 784 grams per liter
MAX Vapor Pressure of the V.O.C. -
81mm Hg at 20 degrees C
that's what was under the warning. I picked it up at the home depot in Colma. I asume that you know where that is since you're in SF?

If you cant find straight toluene, use xylene, but not thinner.
Use 20% max of either per tank, and you will be very pleased :-)

It will work fine on one condition:
it must not contain acetone. Acetone is what eats away your o-rings in the fuel system and causes injector failures.
All forms of paint thinner have some acetone (yes even non-acetonic paint thinner). The trick is to not let it sit in your car's fuel system for very long.
As long as it doesn't have acetone.... enjoy!

Toluene is also labelled Non-acetonic paint thinner
Also, if you're in SF, you can get 100 octane at Gotelli's Speed Shop in South SF. It's actually a famous engine builder/hot rod shop for the V8 crowd.
