Is there a write-up for just replacing the outer CV boot? The tech article has you pulling the axle.

Seems unnecessary just to replace the outer boot.

Default either way, pulling the axle takes an extra 2 minutes.
seems like it would be easier to clean and pack the cv with the axle out of the car, but then i've never replaced just the boot.

You have to remove the axle from the hub, obviously, but you don't have to remove the axle.
