thinking about a new sound system for my S. any suggestions?? good install pics??....
I got one estimate from a local shop at just over 3G's installed. is this average, not much or more than I should spend? I know home theatres pretty well, but not car audio. the sales guy had technical terms flying out of every hole in his body..he lost me quickly. the system did sound good though. not really into super low end rap, but more so primus type/jazz etc.
I already blew the right rear stock bose speaker so i must do something!?!?

no, you're just crazy if you take hout the factory head :)....
you don't want to replace the radio, do you? I think it's really nice.
The BOSE is good enough for me...I'd actually rather listen to my exotic exhaust.

I completely changed the system in my S4 when it was brand new. Took the place 2 weeks to fabricate
and install this. It sounds awesome, and I don't regret for one minute dropping the factory stereo system. This sounds way better than the Audi Symphony or Bose systems could ever hope to. I also like Jazz (also like Pop and Rock, and don't listen to much Rap). Here are some system specs, and a link to another discussion with some photos of the system and the installation.
I used Boston Acoustic Pro Series Speakers exclusively, 5 1/4" woofers and 1" tweeters up front, 6 1/2" woofers and 1" tweeters in the rear deck, and two 8" subs. There are two 500 watt amps, one powering the 8 regular speakers and one powering the subs in a custom rack under the rear deck. There's also a cassette tuner and 11 band graphic EQ with separate sub controller in the dash, and a 6 disc changer in the trunk.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/14210.phtml">Ted's Alpine Sound System</a></li></ul>
