Default thinking about picking up a 2000 A4 2.8 QMS for a daily driver

one of my neighbors is looking to trade in his wife's A4 on a new civic for his daughter. According to the guys its in very good (not great) condition, new tires, brakes and front wheel bearings. It does need rear wheel bearings however (figuring $500). The Honda dealer offered him $11k for trade, so with the taxes he would save he wants $12,500 for it. Thinking about pulling the trigger and replace my current daily driver with it.

Any thoughts?

Default S4 is for fun, this would be strictly a daily driver

sounded like a good deal and my current daily driver ('89 accord) needs to be retired.

Default Is MPG important to you right now? The A4 will suck that stuff up.

Probably won't be as bad as the S4, but milage won't be great on the 2.8

BTW....more details on the car!

Default I had one before my S4 (99.5 QMS)

Great car, you'll enjoy it. Very different feel than the S4. I don't know exactly why you'd have an A4 for a daily driver and an S4 for a fun car though...wouldn't it be cheaper to just rack the miles onto the S4 than buy this?
