Thinking of getting a custome tune, few concerns:
- Is our stock cooling system capable of dealing with abt 500 crank HP? My cooland needle swings slightly past middle mark in heavy summer traffic alerady. Is there a chance to boil the fluid, particularly if the sistem is not as tight as new? (DAP, parhaps your case?)
- is stock compression ratio low enough for 20+ lbs sustained boost. Am I better off with head gaskets....just to be on a safe side?
- how far RS4 fuel pump can safely support?

FWIW, I've never seen my coolant gauge go past the middle mark.
Well before I was EPL tuned, I was having an issue with a stuck open thermostat that caused the car to run too cool, but thats about it (resolved by replacing the thermostat).
As to thicker headgaskets, I'm not sure I'd say they are necessary. There are homebrew cars running 24-28 psi that aren't popping headgaskets. And my headgaskets didn't seem to be the source of my coolant loss as it continues even after I've replaced them.
That said, lower compression will likely give you more overhead to safely run more timing and/or boost.

I think you are ok buddy
I am HB and at one point i was spiking 28 psi and tapering to 23 at redline. I am now 26 spike 23 redline and no issues. I have logged a few thousand miles so far with this setup. Oh and I am on the RS4 fuel pump, greentops @ 4 bar w/plenty of headroom.

I didn't realize there were people running over 24 psi. I have heard of 24 psi from a few people,
but not 25-28. Do you know who is? Also, do you know what turbos they are making that boost on? Thanks!

There are a few in the FATS database. I know other people have posted about high boost levels.

I don't think that homebrewers running 24-28 psi got more than 20k miles yet on that set up
So, in my eyes, them not poping the HG yet is not an indication of durability. In any case, HB is not an option for me.
Going back to your coolant loss: how much do you loose in a say a week..? Do you think it could be block? What do you use for coolant?

PP + C + Tweaked WGs RS6s I could do 30 PSI these turbos are great but,
I think 28psi spike is really pushing the hardware to hard. I think CJK is running the same boost map as me.

I'm using VW/Audi G12 mixed 50/50 w/water.
I think on average, its been going from full to the min mark every 7-10 days.
At this point, I don't know for sure what it is. Could potentially be the block or one of the heads.
