Those with the 50w Xenon upgrade, a few questions
I'm thinking about replacing the ballasts in my car and its basically cheaper to use SPP's 50w kit than buy a new pair of OEM ballasts.
But I was wondering...
- How much brighter is it?
- Increase in glare?
- Cops care at all, or even notice it?
- Any other issues?
Just been kind of disappointed with the headlights in the car over the years that I've had it. And recently I replaced the bulbs and seems to have made it worse. So I'm thinking the only thing left is a ballast replacement.

- How much brighter is it?
i would say it is significantly brighter. noticably brighter at the very least.
- Increase in glare?
i dont really understand the question, but i think im going to say no, no increase in glare
- Cops care at all, or even notice it?
as long as you dont get ricer blue bulbs and your lights are aimed properly you should be fine. the one time i saw my friend pulling up in my car, i did notice that you can DEF tell my xenons are brighter than all other xenon cars on the road ... although that depends on what angle you see the car from.
- Any other issues?
its been running solid for me for about 2 years now (since my headlights were stolen with OEM kit in it) and its perfect except for this 1 kind of strange issue ...
when its really cold (less than 30) and i turn on my lights after it being cold, my passenger light will not fire on the first time. i turn off my headlights and turn them on and it fires up the second time always. i guess its just soo cold the ballast has trouble firing or something ... not a big deal to me b/c it always turns on the second time...
oh its 5:30 off to the atrium mall for a boston area GTG!!
