For those that have done the full-size spare in the Avant mod...
Just did the mod this evening. I got the plastic trim piece back on (what a pain!) and that seems to hold the tire down a bit, but I suspect I really need some sort of a mounting screw device to hold the spare in place.
Will a sedan spare-tire-holddown-thingy work? Should I just drive around with luggage in the back to stabalize the tire?

Yes, that's what I did...

Be advised...
I had to shave down the spacers on the outside of the ring that positions the clamp inside the hub. I pulled the part number off of the sedan, but I had some issues with the parts department, I hope yours comes out right. Email me if you have any problems.
