Default Those M guys are'nt all that bad...

I guess for whatever reason it's almost granted that M3 drivers are cocky and snobbish or whatever. I actually had the opportunity to go off the line with an M3 over the weekend.

Him: Purpleish color, clear corners, Remus exhaust and the sweetest looking hartage wheels. I doubt he had a chip... =)

Me: Stg 2 and the "silver" speed advantage.

The guy had a hard time keeping up with me up to 80mph...around that speed he started to even up but we had run out of road and i hit my blinkers and brakes, claiming victory. At the next light we yapped a little bit about what kind of exhaust each other had and how his wheels were hella nice etc.....

cordial enough i'd say....esp after losing!!! Did my chip give me an unfair advantage over him? HELL YEA!! Do i care? heheh nope!! =P

Which brings up my curiosity about how fast LeepyM3's M3 is..... =)
-Cheng Kwan

Default As far as I know, my car's faster than stock... (More)

I've covered the low end range with the JimC software and the pulley. My car gets a lot of juice, especially towards higher rev's (redline now at 7k-7.2k).
As for mid-range, I really haven't done much. I would like to swap my cams and change the rear diff, but the latter compromises a noticeable amount of low end power. Also, both jobs are very costly.
M3's tend to sound "happier" revving very high. More so than the less powerful but more mod'able 95 E36 M3's.
This is why I was shocked to read your story. Daytona Violets and Avus Blues came only in 95.
Almost always, 95 owners never leave their car heavily UNMOD'ED.
I'm not suggesting that the 95 should have otherwise killed you. But the fight would have been more even, even with your chip.
I haven't timed my car yet. I'd prefer going to professional driving school before doing something like that.
On paper, my car should have between 305-320 bhp at the crank. But as always, what is in theory is not necessarily real. Give or take 20% loss in crank to wheel, my car has about 240-256 bhp at the wheel.
When I dyno'ed my car at ERT of Wilmington, DE
2 years ago (chip, intake, exhaust), I had only about 238 at the wheel. Torque was a tad higher than that.
I'm dying of curiosity about my torque now, especially with the pulley and upgraded JimC software.
We'll have to see... I'll keep you posted.
One advantage of RWD cars - finding dynos!
Where do you live?

Default PCH. A nice drive it is!!! When I was visiting a now-ex, we rented a 328Ci to cruise along PCH!!!

Yes, it had to be a BMW.

Default PCH is the best....even in traffic. Malibu beach is...well....malibu!

unless you are late for a meeting or somehting, PCH is by far the best commute. Especially when they were filming baywatch and some other swimsuit sexy show in the mornings......*grin
-Cheng Kwan
