Default Those using the ITG cone filter, have you had any issues with the foam desintegrating? (more)

My ITG is about a year old and this is the 4th time I wash it. While cleaning I noticed a lot of foam particles coming from the top and sides. I've always wash it with the recomended powder soap and lubricate with the special spray oil (never over-lubricate). Why would it deteriorate so quick? I doubt is the heat since it's inside the air box. I switched back to the old K&N but heard it's bad for the MAF sensor (oil and what not). Any guesses? TIA.

Default Maybe all the washing is the problem?

Mine seemed solid for the year or so I had it, but it only needed to be cleaned once...

Default i would imagine it's not going to hold up for more than a couple of washes. Why are you cleaning it

Each time I pulled it out it was soiled and covered in debris. I've got the Darintake but the mesh's holes are pretty large. I'm getting a new mesh w/ smaller holes, might keep the filter cleaner.

Plenty of dust and debris on these roads, plus the holes in the mesh I've got for the Darintake hole are pretty large. Geeez, an $80 filter that only lasts few washes sounds like a ripoff.

Default I ran a 60-73 for 18mo, two washings, no problem. I'm now using a 60-80. . .

though I haven't washed it. You should call Coastal Fab (US Distributor) and find out if they'll replace it for you, as these should be "lifetime" elements. This airbox is still beta/experimental.
