Thought for the day: Why are all the Porsches I see driving 50mph in the slow lane.
Do they not know how to have fun?
It seems like I never see a Porsche in a "spirited driving" mode (while I am driving around in my S4 - audi content). Anyone else notice it? I have just been trying to figure it out.
Theories
Just trying to look good?
Afraid of the car?
Afraid of getting another ticket?
Just old geezers who are trying to relive their youth?

You guys need to breathe some nice dense air.
The reason Porsche drivers don't act like morons on the street is because they know they are targets for just about everyone, and have nothing to prove (remember that Audi advert?).
So, are you guys telling me that you need to be doing excessive speeds in order to enjoy a Porsche? Or any other car for that matter?

I've been singled out at least twice because my car was a porsche
and the others weren't. Fortunately for me I got warnings both times, but I definitely am more conscious of my speed in my Porsche than my S4. When I am pretty sure I am safe I let it run hard. But the average speed in my S4 is probably higher.

Notice the word MOST!!
I didn't say all Porsche drivers. MOST of the Porsches I see around here are driven by people that have it just for the image. Alot of them will even admit it. I was just talking to a guy with a 993 TT at the country club two days ago. He loved the car, but he didn't know the first thing about it.
Sure there are enthusiasts, but not like you do with other sports cars (mostly because of the Porsches cost). Porches are great cars, but from a performance stand point there are many cars that will destroy them for the money.
