Default I've been considering the same thing..

Samco is made of silicone, which has been tried and true in the turbo industry for years. Plus it's an economical buy. On the flip side I've heard about them stretching and loosing their fit, and I've heard that the sensor sits too high in it and won't let you put the engine cover on. As well, I've heard that the sensor touches the hood when you close it.
As for the AMS TBB, I've heard good things, but it is just a stock TBB wrapped in Kevlar. Kind of a rip off considering it's about 10 bucks for the kevlar. The only bad things I've heard about it that it's a B&tch to get on. I've never heard of a reported tear or it blowing off. Plus, It looks completely stock for the dealer. Anyone else have some input?

Umm, AMS TBB doesn't just look stock to dealer, it IS stock for warranty purposes...

Default I've heard of problems with the Samco, never heard of any with the AMS - that's all I need to make

decision : )

Default I've heard of a Samco tearing

Also you may not be able to put your engine cover on and close the hood. The ams is just a pain to put on but seems to work better over time.

Default Um, the AMS TBB has "popped off" the large IC pipes in a few cases...

Just playing the other side, search the archives.

Default Just installed the MTM (red one) - fitment is perfect....

it's made from the stock mold...seems great. The Samco fitment is not perfect....mine came off while driving (under full boost)

Default Trust me, if it's altered, the dealer can void your warranty. Read the documentation... I don't (m)

think they would, but they could.

Default I never saw that, but you must admit that there are way more posts complaining about the Samco.

The stretching is what freaks me out, if those posts are accurate. My guess on the AMS is that the clamps were not on tight enough, it is just a stock TBB after all.

Default My Samco tore, the inside ridge that helps to hold it onto the large pipe tore, causing the boot to

slip off. also the openings on mine appear to be larger than the factory boots. Also, the sensor sits up too high so you can't get the engine cover on.

So all in all, it sucks.
