Tip vs 6spd launches
Ok now we have ANOTHER debate. Mike says my tip will dust the 6spd in 1st gear because a brake torque launch loads the engine while the 6spd can't. Any help on THIS one?

when i lined up against NASA racer, in the good ol days...
he'd get a jump on me. My times were better though!
These days, i don't know. He's got that damn p-car now and i have different (better) stuff for the S4

The important part is that it loads the tranny, not the engine
A funny characteristic about automatic torque converter-based trannies is that when the wheels are stopped and the engine is turning, the torque converter has a 2x torque multiplier. Thus, a 1200rpm 'launch' from an auto trannied car will be more effective than a 1200rpm launch from a stick. But who launches at that rpm anyway?
Basically, my stock 5spd 1.8T will 0wn a stock tip S4 in 1st. I have proven this on numerous occasions. That's the difference a stick makes (esp important with an AWD car). After 1st I am completely owned, but for 1st gear I'm free.
