Tiptronic settings
I just bought a new S4 and am most dissapointed in two features of the tiptronic transmission. The first is the automatic upshift by the tiptronic (especially at the low speed and rpm level from 1st to 2nd), and the second is the automatic downshift when "punching" the accelrator.
Are these features adjustable or can they even be eliminated?
Thanks....

Um it won't auto down shift in tip mode unless you hit the kick down..
After all that is the purpose of kickdown. The 1 2 shift is a property of the tranny and can't be changed. You could however force it to stay in first if you floor it..

a few tips about the tiptronic
1) it won't upshift from 1st to 2nd if you press the pedal about 70%.
2) if you're going slow in 2nd and want to get into first, hold the (-) button and press the pedal about 70%, granted 1st winds out real quick.
3) it will always shift at redline in every gear if you have it floored.
4) there is a kickdown and it will determine which gear to go to based on speed. It will choose the lowest gear it can.

Here's the best tip for a tip transmission.
Contrary to what you'd think, the car is faster in "D". If you're trying to smoke someone from the light, put it in D and stomp on the gas.
