Default Tire question for Track junkies: One of my Pilots has approx 1" of the rim protector rubber missing

It is not the real sidewall of the tire but the extra rubber which is supposed to protect the rim from minor curb scuffs.
Since it isn't the real sidewall of the tire will it pass tech for a track event??

Tires are Michelin Pilots (235/45/17)

Default should be fine, if however you experience any high speed vibration

replace that tire !!

otherwise if it's a cosmetic thing you should be fine.

Thanks. I'm going to have a shop double check it too.

Default I ran my Pilots at muliple events with a chunk out of that rim protector.

My chunk was deep but definitely cosmetic.
