Default Tire recommendations....all-season vs. dedicated summer?

So i've narrowed it down to:

Dunlop SP Sprt Maxx (summer)
Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's (summer)

or

Pirelli P Zero Nero M/S (all season)

* I'm really debating on whether to run a dedicated summer/winter setup or just stick with an all season and be done with it.

Thoughts? What would you do?

Thanks

Default All season's are a constant compromise. Get a set of winter wheels/tires and a summer set. BTW,

I have Goodyear Eagle F1s and I love them. Even put a set on my wife's car. Expensive is the only drawback. They're very quiet.

I agree with ErikS4 below, if you can, get summers and winters.

Default I couldn't agree more. Having 2 sets allows you to get the most performance out of the car. If ...

you don't it's like a constant compromise. You won't get full advantage of Quattro year round.

Summer tires are very stickey and tight and the winters are a terror in the snow and cold weather. Tire compounds are designed to be fully active in certain temperature ranges. That's why it's important.

If "enjoy" includes occasional track days, then punt on the a/s idea.

Default That area gets cold/snowy/icey enough to justify winter tires.

Spring for two sets.

Default You could easily survive the winters in baltimore with good all-seasons (I grew up in MD outside DC)

Assuming you don't head north to the Poconos or anything like that, you should be fine.

Summer time though, the A/S is gonna suck *** compared to a nice summer tire. And don't even think about tracking it that way.

Default I'm in MD, and I'm going all-season this year......

Either another set of Falken Ziex 512 or Nero M/S. I ran all-seasons on my stock avus wheels last winter and they were fine. No need for winters in MD, don't believe the hype. Colorado, Utah, Montana---YES. Maryland---NO. I used to track an e36 M3, and can tell you that no person on this board should be pushing the limits of GOOD all-seasons on the street. I can make you **** your pants long before the tires are at the limit. I do agree that you should never track with all-seasons though. They will be just fine for spirited driving.
