Tire treadlife question. Can someone tell me how much more life the blizzaks have in them? TIA.

The District does get a little snow but probably not enough to justify a really aggressive winter tyre (unless you ski a lot or go places where they get lots of snow). So maybe look at some of the winter tyres designed for higher speeds?

And no, 16's will not clear anything but the stock brakes.

having grown up in DC, you could honestly get away with an All/Season geared towards snow

like a Nokian WR. You don't need a real snow tire, except like once every 10 years.

I've looked at used winters...

in fact I'm still looking. What I'm finding are a LOT of people pawning off their "winter" tires, when in fact they have very little life left in them, and asking a premium for that used rubber as well. Makes no sense to me, but I guess there are enough ill informed people to pawn them off on.

In any event, it's not likely you'll find a used low mileage set.
