Titanium Conn. rods for S4?
Has anyone come across any manufacturers of titanium connecting rods for the 2.7T Audi S4? I know Ruf makes them for Porsche models, but I've so far been unable to locate them for Audi models. I would even consider going so far as to have them fabricated to custom specs, if necessary.
Thank you.

One question...
Why?
The only reason I can think of putting Ti rods in a 2.7 is to increase the RPM range. The only reason one should need to increase the RPM range enough to need Ti rods is for an all-out racing application. (Boost pressure delivers a mere fraction of normal reciprocating stress.)
Since the 2.7 has a copious torque-curve and well-spaced gearing even in an all-out race engine this would seem to be more of an oddity than a required innovation.
If it is a required innovation, I'd be really really interested in the project and it's outcome.
I'd try to find some Honda (~1.8l) Ti rods, they have similar stroke to the S4... but this will probably require custom machining of crank/pistons/wrist pins.
