Tolulene users, I have some questions... please advise.
I have been reading up on this and wanted to know if toluene can really boost octane levels.
Well, I'm in the NJ area and wanted to experiment with this method.
I was told that this method of octane boosting is viable for our car's 15.6 gallon tank.
Can I mix a 12.6 gallons of regular 93 octane oil with 3 gallons of toluene ( which is 114 octane)
The formula would be:
(12.6 * 93) + (3*114)/ 15.6 = 97. Is this right?
What if i wanted to add more tolulene ie 4 gallons. is this safe.
Oh btw, can I get toluene from Sherwin Williams or Hopedepot

For the computations, I have a little program that is pretty cool
You put in the fuel ratings for both (93 and 114 in this case) and the amounts of each and it does it for ya. I'm e-mailing it to you.

that is great... I'm thinking of just dumping the 5 gallon in...
to the tanks and fill the rest up with 93 octane. Now according to my calculations... that would be about 100 octane. Now the big question is... is that too much toluene? I don't want to go nuts and destroy my fuel system quite yet.
Have you done this before?
