Took my headlights out yesterday to try and get to the lens...
from behind to clean them off. They both have water stains and dust etc. in them. After taking the clip off of the back to access the lens I was at a loss to be able to get in any further. I noticed the four Phillips head screws further inside the housing, but I was fearful to take them out. Not sure if I would have been able to get them back in.
Is this a lost cause, or not possible?
Help, TIA-

its possible
and its a PITA
There are 3 philips screws that mount the projector to the inside of the lamp. Unscrew them (I am assuming that you have removed the bulb and ballast at this point).
Next, take a razor knife and cut the excess plastic above where the ballast mounts (I can take a picture of what im referring to if you are confused)
With some needle nose pliers, remove the 4 clips that hold the two parts of the projector together
Remove the 2 pieces from the housing thru the ballast opening
DO NOT try and remove the glass lens from its mount by twisting the clip...the GLASS WILL CRACK!!!!
oh and you also want to use a magnetic screw driver to screw the projector back in, it makes a huge difference.

Nice. Thank you much. How much of a PITA is putting those clips and screws
back in? I figured that was where I needed to go through, but was afraid of putting it back together..
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

you may have to squeeze the clip tight with the pliers. screwing it back in is easy with a magnetic
screwdriver.
I had my headlights apart this weekend (got e-codes) and saw that one of the clips had come off. I guess I didn't tighten that one well enough.
