Default Torn about selling the car. Any opinions

I am having a tough time trying to decide if I should let the car go. I have been driving my 02 1.8t GTI as a commuter and have been debating on selling the car and need some help. The car is great but am thinking maybe I should sell and take the money and wait to see what I want to get next or just have fun with the car as it only has 30,000 miles on it so it is still pretty new. So basically trying to decide if I take my chances and see if the car holds up or just let it go.

Just talking out loud here.

Do you have your eyes on another car or just thinking about using the GTI as the only?

You're debating on selling a 1.8T GTI? Wrong forum.

Default the gti is not a cheap daily driver, premium gas, turbo engine....

I own a s4 but I also own a toyota tacoma for my daily driver. 4 banger, great ac, throw **** in the back at home depot. I would keep the s4 and dump the gti and buy a cheaper daily with easy engine to work on. My last car was a vr6gti, a 1998 and I loved it so I can see why it would be hard to get rid of it. Good luck and let us know what you did.

Default Ah, the GTI is a fairly cheap daily...

It get's 24/31 mpg cty/hwy, it costs less to insure, and upgrading the car is easier/cheaper than in the S4 since parts are readily available for the 1.8T engine. If he is trying to save money and lives in a city then the GTI is a great way to go, IMHO. I'd get one if I didn't need AWD for the winter.

Default 1.8t not worthy...of GTi badge

the 1.8t is not "GTi" worthy. Vr6, sure. 16V, sure. But the 8 year old 1.8t. nope

Default I'm surprised to hear you say that. If anything, I'd think the VR6 is a shame...

I see that you have quite the VW hertiage. Why don't you like the 1.8T? Forced induction?
