Default Transmission - Can anyone help me on how to change the transmission oil

to synthetic oil. I am tired of the hard shifting(no smoothness) in the cold weather.

Default there are two drain plugs and one fill plug on the 6-speed transmission.

The drain plugs are on the bottom of the transmission, one near the front (bell housing area), one near the rear of the tranny. The fill plug is on the driver's side above near the transaxle.

I suggest removing the fill plug, then the drain plugs to make sure you get all of the fluid out.

Default I used Royal Purple 75W-90.

Other people have used Redline Shockproof (Lightweight), or you can go to the dealer and ask for synthetic tranny fluid (probably $$$$$)

Default here are some pics

i used Redline MT90 fluid for the transaxle.

the oily transaxle was due to a leaking valley pan gasket

Default I just switched to Amsoil 75w90 and the Audi fluid was better in the cold.

I had the revised Audi fluid (I don't have the part # handy)in for about 35k and it was noticably thinner and smother in cold weather. But the Amsoil is definitely smoother after about 15 minutes of driving so I'm sure it will be smoother once the temps get above the single digits that we have now :-)
