Try the Drive for the Cure, test drive BMWs for charity (audi content inside)
Couldn't take my S4 (as it is having the ABS controller replaced), but spent a 2.5 hr lunch beating on several BMW's. Lot's of fun and BMW gives money to a breast cancer research fund.
First was a 325xi wagon, auto (bummer). Nice though. Next was a 3L Z4 - that was fun. Redlines at 7k, and really doesn't start pulling until 4500. Still an auto, so I couln't get any launch, but 90 in 3rd sounded sweet. On the way back to the dealership, pulled up behind a 348 CS - talk about sounding sweet!!!
Best for last - 330i with M suspension, brakes, and exhaust,6 speed. Take the DSC (or whatever it was) off, and it launched not too badly. Also sounded great. Definitely my favorite of the trio, but if the Z4 had been manual .....
I was supposed to drive a 545i 6sp, but they had it our for service :-( That was going to be my wrap up car.
All in all, lots of fun using other folks gas to check out nice cars while money is going to a good cause. They are touring all over the country - check out the BMW website for the drive for the cure.
They also had a 745 which I didn't do. Had enough automatics for one day.
Wish I'd had the S4 though - would have felt nice pulling out in X. None of the BMW's had the feel like the S in X!
Yes, boost is addictive!
