sad to say but these days, it's tough to see...
true craftsmanship. everyone cuts corners to save $$$.
and winter tires arent gonna help if i'm trying to lay down traction just on two wheels. i've been spoiled by quattro.
it's back to audi for a new a4 or allroad or even a chevy trailblazer. yeah, i kinda like the new chevy 'ute.

you're right...
i never said the m3 was a bargain. but then again, when looking at the price of $60K, there arent too many cars that are as tempting to try like the m3 was.
bmws are overpriced.
if i had a family, i'd probably be in an m5 instead.

Me 2, can never justify that price for M3...
Think about this, I could have used that extra 10k to upgrade..hmm..
chip+ECU (1k), exhaust (600), short shifter (200), BPV's (250), H&R Ultra Coilovers (1400), Brembo's (2500?), DP's (2000), what else?? LOL
I would be able to hang in there with the M3. Maybe not as fun as the M3 on the twisties...but, for:
1. Straight line acceleration (torque)
2. practicality (4-door)
3. Safety (quattro) (that allows u to have all the funs all yr round)
4. anyone please chip in something after #3..LOL
I mean, if that's ur weekend car, yeah, why not?! But, if that's your primary ride, M3 will never and EVER beat the S4. (and, leads me to think that what really does beat our S in this sense?)
LOL

ask your bmw dealer for an e46 m3 test drive
and when you get one, do the following:
get into second gear (all m3s are either 6 speed like mine or SMG II equipped)
keep accelerator steady - constant velocity
hit SPORT button located next to Tire Monitoring button
feel the rush!
jam the accelerator down!
you've just felt what the SPORT button can do.
SPORT button changes the engine timing as well as changes the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. big difference in performance. six throttle bodies react to the smallest touch from the accelerator.
intake and exhaust notes also change

Good report.
Heh.
<i>"they also have these buttons that make the side lumbars squeeze you in tight. no more yanking your seatbelt tight to hold you in. these probably have to be my favorite creature comfort feature in the car."</i>
My 1990 Taurus SHO had this feature, too. Shame the US S4 seats leave so much to be desired. We want Recaros! AoA, are you listening?
