UUC short shifter help
Do I have a later model shifter?
Mine looks like it should use the VIN 200001 and higher model. My car is a 01/01 build date with a 114XXX VIN number.
Strat sold me the VIN 200000 and lower model.
Are there early model stock shifters that do not have a angle on the pivot point.??
It sure looks like the higher VIN number model would be a better fit than the early one.
Any feedback would be great before I call Stratmosphere.
TIA

Looks like UUC screwed up on the serial number cutoff.
Man, and I was just about to order the Neuspeed (old) SS, based on the same info. That stinks!
My s/n is 123xxx, build date 2/01 and I think I have the new shifter. The angled lower part is definitely the new shifter. Early '01 models had the straight one. The other difference is the distance from the top of the shaft to the first circlip. I never took mine all the way out to look at the lower part, but I did measure the distance to circlip. Could you measure yours as shown in the pic? Is it the same?

From what I know that is the new shifter. The old one was under 4". Can someone with '00 confirm?
The angled linkage rod attachment makes it definite, you have the new one. Which means so do I. That sucks for both of us, you have to return the UUC and I cannot have the Neuspeed, which I love in my A4. Last I heard they did not yet have the new part.

I brought this up when Pete@strat announced the new shifter
I think there's definitely a mix-up. I also emailed Pete directly, still awaiting a reply--although in his defense, I sent it late Friday PDT, so he might not even have seen it yet. I ordered the new one anyway, supposed to arrive tomorrow. The question I have is ARE there any S4's with a VIN of 200000 or higher? :P

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/378194.phtml</a
