V1 users: Do you use logic or advanced logic mode in suburban areas? My V1 in logic mode goes all
ape**** (constant, multiple bogey counts in all different directions) when I drive around the suburbs. Is this normal?

yes the little L is advanced logic
and will eliminate weak and harmless x band signals. afaik, no police vehicles use x band as radar anymore, due to its high error rate and requirments for perfect conditions (since it is such a broad band)
use the little L and it will alert you to x band signals that might be threatening (one beep) and then automatically mute the signal strength beeps, so you arent as concerned. if a stronger form of radar should appear, it will automatically adjust and beep to that tone and frequency etc.
