Valentine One vs K40 Integrated System. Which one is better?
is the k40 integrated system worth more than 2x the valentine one? my dad wants to install a k40 on his car, but i am trying to convince him that the valentine one can do the same for way less money, he dosent really care about the cost, he just wants the best performing radar detector. So basically which one is the better radar? K40 Integrated or Valentine One?

The V1 has better technology IMO and you really can't beat the directional arrows..
I have the 8500 and I'm going to sell it for the V1. Saw your car in Eurotuner and Car Audio in electronics.. looks sweet man..

I know someone with both....and he says that V1 is far superior
and his Laser diffusor is the ultimate in complementary protection. He's leavin gthe k40 in b/c it's not worth removing the custom installation.
He also has the Toyguy installation - NICE and clean =)

I am currently testing V1 & Bel Vector 985 side by side...
I have had the V1 for almost 2 yrs. Recently bought the Bel based on some reviews I saw. They are both installed side by side, for about 2 weeks now. Full report to follow. Preliminary results: The V1 is more sensitive by a significant margin. Many times (I would say most of the time) it simply gives an earlier warning, which means more time to adjust your attitude. It also falses more, but logic modes help considerably. I got hit with laser once. The V1 blasted, and the Bel never even peeped. I have the other laser detector (not K-40), but not installed yet. Passport 8500
I've been using the passport for about a year now. They're the only ones who have the "Spec. display" which actually gives you the frequency of the radar source. Over time, I've been able to make a list of the frequencies that are used in my Area. This way I know right away whether to be concerned or not. I'm finding that some K band and even KA band emissions are not from Cops. For those in MI with a 8500 here are some of the critical frequencies:
State Troopers(around greater detroit area)- K band 24.192
Ann Arbor and most smaller towns-K 24.174
Northern MI Statey's- Some K band 24.192 some 24.150
