walk out to find my car completely dead. last night as i was driving in wet conditions
my red battery light came on. as i was getting on the gas, my traction control, abs, and brake light would come on followed by three beeps. however, all the lights would go off once the brake was being applied. went out to my car this morning and now the car is completely lifeless. any ideas?

alternator?......
i know a bunch of lights went on when i crazy on my lexus when the alternator went.....quick test to see if it is the alternator, it to jump the car and then take off the jumper cables....let it idle for a couple mins and if it dies you alterntor is bad. If it keeps running and then next time you try starting the car it doesnt start, its the battery.

Time to make a stop at Pep Boys and get a new battery...
I got all my winter major car projects done (RMS, piggies, RS4 clutch kit) and the car sounds and runs great. With all the ice and rain lately it's been in the garage high and dry.

i mean if you alternator is bad, it wont be charging the battery...
and the car would be running straight off the battery or if the battery was bad the engine was just running off the alterntor.

just try the test i gave you in the above post, then you will know which it is for sure
or you can take it to autozone or any autoparts to have them check it, just make sure they use the big machine on it and not the hand held one. Ive been told my battery was the problem by guys with hand helds and it end up being the alterntor. The big machine is more retard proof.
