Happily to report... thanks to those German Engineers not a drop came in do to the rear drip pan that catches anything that comes in and directs it to the drain holes. :-)

doesn't really work when the sunroof is completely open and it rains though doh!

Yeah, that happened to me too once - love that I can drive with it open when it's raining too!
