Default Water injection...A few thoughts about a setup I'm thinking about. I see that there is a kit

on ebay, Be Cool, for under $200 shipped, however it isn't a progressive kit. Looks like a decent quality setup though. Anyways, I know davenew was looking into something like this a while back and not sure what he ended up doing, but I was thinking couldn't you use an adjustable FPR to regulate the amount of flow? Since it is connected to a vacuum line, it would increase flow with increased boost right? They can be had for about $40 on ebay...what do you guys think?

Spend the money and have it done properly. you can ruin your engine so easily.

Default I don't see what would be wrong with this kit...I'm just asking about the regulator idea...the only

difference in the other kits is that the flow is regulated by an electronic controller that adjusts the pressure of the pump to adjust flow...I don't see how this would be that bad. I mean really, you set the regulator to the max flow rate that you want, and it builds up to that with increasing boost...in theory it should work right? I guess I just can't justify spending $600 on a water injection kit that uses basically the same parts as a $200 kit...it's mostly the name brand that accounts for the price...

The car must be tuned properly to have positive results, messing with the kit would be a bad idea

Default Actually...it should help without tuning, just not as MUCH as when it is tuned for it...the main

thing it does without tuning is decrease the intake temp, and keep the IAT delta down. But you wouldn't be messing with the kit. It is a static kit, no varition, just on or off. I am talking about using the regulator in line to the nozzles so that it flows a variable amount at different boost levels. That way it isn't flowing the max amount at say 10 psi, it would slowly build up to the max at max boost pressure. This is exactly what the other kits do with progressive controllers, only with an electronic regulator...I don't see what the huge problem is...how could you mess up the engine...all adding the regulator would do is decrease the amount of water injected at lower boost levels...

Default I bought aquamist hfs-5 but never got it installed

I was in the process of installing the aquamist kit but had a change of heart and decided to start getting the car ready for sale. The plan was to get it installed and drive back to EPL for a retune.

I was going to sell this kit but the more I think about it.. I may keep it on the shelf for awhile until a decision is made regarding my next car.

I thought about trying to piece my own kit together but never found the time.

Default No, water injection is very safe...

You don't need a progressive controler and you don't need to tune your car for it.
Most kits are also very simple and easy to install. There is almost no way to put enough water into your engine to do any damage. If you run a meth mix, there is even less of a chance. I don't think I have EVER heard of someone killing their engine with water injection.

you will definitely see an improvement with no tuning - i saw it on the HB car
