Just yesterday, I started to hear a high pitched noise coming from the steering column when it was turned. What strikes me as odd is that it not only occurs while turning but also when held steady in a turn. Noise almost sounds electronic and occurs when radio is off.

Anyone else experience this or know what it might be? Car is going in for 30K service in a few weeks, just want to know what to expect.

may be power steering pump - check your power steering fluid level - common problem.

fluid level is ok. Not making any noise today either...maybe the cold yesterday?
