Default Well, my coolant leak is coming from the heater or the heater hose...

...I stopped by my dealer to see if we could put the car up on the lift to see if we could find the leak (to know if I should stop driving it ASAP to take care of a failing water pump or not). The leak was a booger to find, being behind the engine, and the firewall really. We couldn't determine if it was the heater hose or running down the heater hose from the heater itself. The leak is minor, and I really only use the heat about 30-40 days of the year in Houston, so I'm just going to let this one play out. To do the repair, it will take at least an hour just to get to the spot (rear of tranny must be dropped), and since a leaking hose is not covered under my extended warranty (although a leaking heater IS), I may just wait this one out until I have a reason to have that area apart (i.e., upgrade the clutch). Thanks to the guys at Advantage Audi for checking this out when I dropped by free of charge today! Anyone else have this problem?

Default I had a obvious coolant leak 2 times from the top around the resevoir.....

8 months later I noticed the coolant really really low so I took it to a Euro shop put it up on the lift and found nothing. So I toppped the whole thing off with water.

Is having majority water in there bad???

...it's bad only if it gets below freezing.

Yep -- might want it to be distilled though.
