To me that definitely looks like FOD. There is really no other way to nick a compr blade like that.

Default Did you happen to notice the fact that the metal was bent such that the wheel

should have been spinning backwards to produce that nick? Believe me, it was there when I put them in. Blouch said the wheels actually appear to have been used wheels that they filed down the leading edges on to cover up the nicks that were in them already. Notice the small nicks present on the filed part of the compressor wheel? What's your take on that?

Default The nicks are certainly from FOD. You can can bend a blade with FOD as well

which is probably why that one is bent the other way. I can't speculate on who did it, I'm just telling you what I see. I'm only going off my jet engine background, but I'm certainly not a turbo expert.

You never answered my question, were these advertised as new CHRAs or did you send in some crap turbos to be rebuilt? Do you have pictures of these before they were installed? I'm asking because I purchased my CHRAs from Audspeed and my passenger side turbo is sounding like a siren already. I'm not really worried, but it's really annoying. They were advertised as new, so I'm assuming that meant he didn't rebuild them and they are new from the factory.

Default WHAT LOL. Are you fvcking kidding?

Dude you definitely got ripped off. My 120k K03s looked in better condition than that. Those are definitely used and I can see FOD marks all over the place. Sorry man but I think Blouch was right; that's definitely not new. I think this is something you will have to fight with Audspeed. My PJ K04 cores looked prestine and if I saw anything on the blades, I would have sent them back. Those things spin so fast that the slightest removal of material can significantly shorten the life span of the turbo.

Honestly, if Audspeed isn't going to offer some kind of exchange or money back, then I would just send them to blouch to be done correctly. Short of taking legal action, there won't be much you can do. I don't know what happened to your K03s, but if you need replacements to atleast get your car operational, I still have my K03s. One sounds like a siren but only during spool up and down. There is very little shaft play and zero damage to the blades. They'll probably last another 10k miles.

Default I know, but, as I'm not a turbo expert, I just put my trust in them that it was done

correctly. I will just have to see what he is going to do about it then. As for my K03's, they are in perfect shape actually. I swapped by choice.

Default Should have gone with Blouch in the first place. They are top notch.

I can't believe you installed the turbos with the fins looking like that. I hope you can resolve something with Audspeed/Ebay
