But, I'll get something fun again in the future. Car pulls hards, turns heads, and handles very well. Actually got the rear out on a tight turn, even though the road was so dry.
Thinking of either buying a beater car for $5k for the next year, or leasing something cheap like a Volvo S40 or a Mini. The beater car makes more sense, but for that much money it's basically luck on whether the car would be reliable or not (would have to be really high mileage).

I dunno, looking at maybe 325is' and miatas. Maybe a truck, who knows
I really should defer all car fun for a year and just get something like an accord, but I just can't do that .
The thing is, an acceptable beater will be around $6k, so for that much I might as well lease something decent like an S40, since in a few years $6K won't really matter (it's not like I won't be able to buy a house because of that amount or something).

Don't spend much or you'll only be reminded of just how good your S4 WAS.
I've owned a few cars before this, some had their qualities, but this car is still dope. You go spending $20k on an E36 M3 and you'll only discover what I did driving a friend's; nice car, but no S4. Now the E30 M3 would be great, it's not trying to be a performance luxury sedan and doesn't have the same compromises. If you could find one that hasn't been tracked to death and isn't selling for $15k it would make a great car.
But I still have to say, get a beater until you can come back to us or get a Porsche. Good luck.

Did you know the people or you just started following them?
I ask because I had a really funny/strange experience yesterday. I took the 996tt out for the first time since Jacob, Donnie, Dmitri, etc were in town a couple months back. It hadn't moved since then so the battery was almost dead, had to charge her up. Anyway, this guy in a grand prix kept following me like we were driving together. At lights, he would floor it off the line and the tires would squeal. At first, I thought it was funny. It got old real quick.

True - thing is I just need something worry-free. A car under full warranty would be nice
I guess I need to go test drive an S40 or a Mini and see if I'd even see myself in one. I can accept that nothing will have the power of my S4, but frankly it might be nice to have something I can just plow over potholes without cringing and swerving every which way .
By the way did you ever get your fueling figured out?

Nah I knew them, guys from 6speed. Got the invitation to drive the 996tt, but declined
I don't like driving other people's cars - makes me nervous if anything ever happened...
