I mean if you have to launch it for a street race that you want to win, but at the same time you're not willing roast it like a piece of "bread" goin for your best ET at the strip.

i know exactly what youre talking about... for these kinds of things, i bounce the rpms between 2500
to 3000, and usually catch it somewhere on the upswing in that range. i dont drop the clutch cause it will bog, but i release quickly and hold at the engagement point for a second. It catches and goes. Works great. doesnt seem too abusive, doesnt make your butthole pucker up.

for me...3500 is fine and 4000 the clutch slips a little (stk clutch)...
anything above that for me is abusive.....of course thats at the dragstrip where traction is awesome....on the street you could probably be a little more agressive.

Not even gunna ask why you'ed have a "pucker" problem. Glad to hear you bouce between
2500 and 3000 though, cause thats where I try to get it. On the upswing though isn't always happening for me. I'm workin on the mid-level lauch still.

IMO..to be consistent you should hold at the desired RPM and then release....
as fast as you can (not side step). Most all manually shifted drag cars and such do it this way. If you miss your mark your way you bog, spin tire, slip the clutch, or get it right. Just my thoughts.
