Default What was the longest anyone waited for their S4?

I have waited 3 months so far and it seems like it going to be another 2 or 3 more months. Thanks for all input!

Default About 3 1/2 months could have been 5 months. (more - long)

Back on 10/28/99 I ordered a Black/Onyx S4 from Bill Cook with the understanding that delivery would be late February to early March. I had to leave a $1000 deposit since that is their minimum required deposit. In December I was told that my S4 was going to be built in January. I didn't want to harass the Sales Rep. at Bill Cook by calling everyday, so in January I asked the Sales Rep. to let me know of any status changes on my order. On 2/10/00 someone posted Fred Lavery had a Pearl White S4 available. Since I knew the Pearl White is a special order, I really wanted to have an S4 ASAP, and the Sales Rep. at Bill Cook had not informed me yet that the car had even been built, I called Fred Lavery. I talked to a Rick at Fred Lavery and yes the car was available and it has the exact same options that I had ordered. After I explained my situation to Rick, I asked if I could come in that night and look at it. Rick tagged the car with my name just in case. I looked at it and my only question was "What do I have to do to get this one instead of the one I ordered at Bill Cook". Rick explained to me what I needed to do to get my deposit back from Bill Cook. (I did not like doing it that way, but I did pick it up on 2/11/00.) Rick would not take a deposit from me. (The most Fred Lavery would take for a deposit is $500.) We agreed on 2/17/00 since I had to deal with the loan paperwork. I picked it up on 2/17/00 as planned and I love driving the S4. It was just a small change from the '87 Lincoln Town Car I was driving. While I was at Fred Lavery on 2/10/00, they sold the only other one they had in stock (Imola Yellow). Good thing Rick put my name on the Pearl White.

I understand that the Black/Onyx that I initially ordered arrived in early April. So had I actually waited for the Black/Onyx, I would have waited about 5 months.<p>Brett Gissel

Default If you really don't want to wait anymore, start checking with other dealers.

Default Craig, didn't you have to wait for the S4 to go into production first?
