What should I look for in a used 2001 S4 avant?
I am going to check out a 01 S4 and wanted to find out what warning signs and trouble spots to look for?
The car is at a dealer and has 30k miles. Does $29,900 sound about right?

Tip or 6spd? 01 or 01.5? Different things need to be looked at for those. I know you said
01, but it MAY be a 01.5. If it is truly an 01. Look for a leaking or cracked F-hose (behind pass. side DV under cover), see if you can see any cracks, splits in the tbb(throttle body boot, in the same area bolting up to throttle body), split in hose from fuel rail to "T" for DV vacuum hoses. Any of these problems can affect the car and it's turbos. If they haven't been upgraded and/or taken care of it can added stress on the turbos which is bad. Just a couple things.

depends on what the car is equipped with......
color?, sport package?, other options? Certified Pre-Owned? how much original warranty is left? 30k is pretty lo-miles...about $27k-30k is about right
