What are the two small red lights that are in the overhead console, just in front of sunroof switch,

Default What are the two small red lights that are in the overhead console, just in front of sunroof switch,
you can not see when they are on unless you put your hand underneath them. they seem to shine toward and below the mirror. they are not real bright and seem to have no effect on ambient lighting. is this a dumb question? Should I read my owners manual?

i dont know, but they make the shift pattern on an rs4 shift **** look pretty cool !

Default ambient lighting...red light for night map or whatever reading..easier on eyes
or to look at your hand while you shift..hehe cool.

they are for your night vision the older 90'-91'CQ's had them in the same place.

I just observed them in a darkened garage, they are for ambient lighting, very subtle indeed.

Ambient lighting. You should see the S8. They are in the door handles and a few other extra places.

The are there so you can see your hand position when adjusting the temp settings etc.

Red because is does not change your night vision.

the ignition switch.
