Default What's general concensus of mating RS4 pressure plate to SPEC clutch disc?

I've read one testimonial that this works well. I've got a SPEC stage 2 still in shrink wrap that I need to do something with. Either sell it or get an RS4 pressure plate to make a "reliable" clutch. I don't exactly want to throw away $700+ for an unused clutch.

What would you do?

Default Without having experienced it...

I'd say its a good thing. The SPEC failures that I have heard about have been pressure plate related so the RS4 PP with a more agressive clutch disk should be a nice way to go.

Vendors should take note and start selling RS4 PPs and SPEC (or other) clutch disks a la carte.

Default The problem with that is sourcing RS4 PPs seperately from the rest of the clutch.

With that said, Ed was extremely nice and split one up for me.

Default I don't know if I'm the only one that has this setup or not but...

I can tell you that the pedal feel is great, the engagement point is much better(more towards the top), and I don't think I sacrificed much in power holding capability. I'm using it with a LWFW and I am experiencing VERY little chatter. I'm using the SPEC II/III hybrid disk with the RS4 pressure plate and love it!

Default I think that would allow users to adjust the clutch to their particular taste.

Not a bad idea. I got mine from Euro-audi-parts.com
