What's the lightest 17x8 wheel?
APR has the Fiskes and says 16 pounds, the BBS RC is 18 pounds at half the cost. What other lightweight wheels are out there? Tirerack has that neat little Flash applet, but it doesn't give any weights. A guy I know said he had heard of 14 lb wheels, but I don't know what size those were (he races Neons, so they might have been smaller).

basically just for looks... and custom work... for offset and width specs.

Multi-piece wheels are NOT "just for looks" or "custom spec-ing" ...
While 2 and 3-piece wheels do allow for custom fitments, the real benefit is that they offer superior strength and weight savings to their 1-piece counterparts. With multi-piece wheels components -- the rim and center piece(s) -- can be combined that are manufactured with different forging (or casting) techniques.
Moreover, if you bend a multi-piece wheel, the rim can be repaired or replaced without having to replace the entire wheel.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=909"><img SRC="http://www.planet42.net/images/sig_pic.gif" ALT="Rob O" BORDER=0></a>

Not true!.....
The real advantage of multipiece wheels is that they are much stronger than one piece wheels. Their modular constuction allows for the use of different metals for different purposes as well better dissipation of shock forces. They will tend to be slightly heavier than their one piece counterparts but are still significantly lighter than most stock wheels (esp. on S4 where stock units weigh 27.4lbs). One piece ultralight wheels are great but they are more prone to bending. I was choosing between BBS RK at $325 and 20lbs per wheel vs. BBS RKII at 22lbs and $555 per wheel. I went with the RKII for the added strength since I live in the Northeast and the roads can be bad at times. Just don't want to deal with the cost or hassle of replacing/repairing custom wheels. Think about what kind of roads you drive on, and what your budget is, then make the decision.

17" Fikses are 17lbs, 18" are at least 18lbs
One of the best wheels you can buy, but the 18" Fikses are NOT 16 lbs.
My preference is for a 17" 1 piece forged wheel, too bad there are none that fit the bill on an S4. I'll probably end up with RC's or the new CH.
