When installing H&R Coilovers the rear springs go with the compressed coils towards the top...?

Default When installing H&R Coilovers the rear springs go with the compressed coils towards the top...?

Meaning away from the threaded collar.

Rule of thumb... lettering on spring always right side up.

I kinda figured. And it's the front springs.. my fault.

If you can read it right side up after you install it... you're in good shape.

Default BTW shep, thank you for the excellent write up!!

A couple of us went to town last weekend on an A4...using your directions! Well done! We had zero issues (well, a few rusty bolts, but PB Blaster made quick work of those) and got it done in 6 hours, taking our sweet time! Thanks for taking the time to put that together!

I've paid out more money than I can recall in install fees over the last 3 years...but no more! I bought an impact wrench (not necessary, but it makes life easy), and a spring compressor. I'm going to take apart the front of my car as soon as the springs and shocks arrive! :-)
