The purple stain I assume is the mount goo that has come out and evaporated or washed away?

Just wondering, why did you go about posting about your allroad on the b5s4 forum?

Default just a guess here, but there are some really knowledgable people on this forum

2.7t experts.

i cant imagine that too many people on the allroad forum go nuts with their cars like we do over here.

Default *ding* - same powertrain, more DIY wrenchers over here.

Most allroads are still under warranty and the purchase demographic is different. The S4s have had the 2.7T powertrain on the street at least a year longer and there are more enthusiasts in S4s so there is much more knowledge and experience on this board.

Ten hours? You could R&R the entire motor in that time.
