Short version:
Cop was following me over a freeway overpass. He wasn't very close, because when I had reached the bottom of the overpass, he was just coming over the top of the overpass. The freeway was also banking left, so I his headlight in the rearview and lost sight of it for a second...instantly, he was on my *** with his blue and red lights. (Motorcycle cop)
My defense was that he had lost line of sight with my vehicle. Neither his radar, nor his visual estimate of my vehicle speed could have been accurately meausured.
The court decided "not guilty" and sent me a check for $271 about 3-4 weeks later. I consider myself *lucky*.
