Why does my milage suck so bad?
I am doing mostly city driving and am averaging between 10-12 mpg. I saw another post below that said the same thing. I got close to 22 mpg with the cruise set between 110-130 on a 300 mile trip. So I don't get why city driving blows gas so quickly? Where are you guys shifting? What gear are you sticking with in city driving? Need some help! I can't keep filling up with 13 gallons every 135-145 miles (like I did today).

Re: Why does my milage suck so bad?
Is the car chipped? Did you properly break-in the engine? What are your driving habits? Do you rev it every time you accelerate? Do launch the car at every stop? The turbos will DEFINITELY suck down fuel. You don't have to pin the tach every time.
10-12 mpg is very low. I'd bring this to the dealers attention if it continues.
I'm averaging 19 miles city and 22-23 highway.

I don't think I've ever filled up without at least ~180-200mi on a tank...
so that's about 14mpg (since it's usually ~13-14 gallons)... worst case...
well, except at the track where I was getting 8.5mpg and filled up with only 110mi or so ;-)
And I drive like a maniac - ask anyone ;-)

Shift point less important than brake use.
The more, and the harder, you find yourself pressing the brake pedal, the lower your MPG will be. Reduce your brake pedal use, and your MPG will go up! This means driving slower between stoplights, decelerating more gradually, etc.
